Product Description

Vacherin is a firm cheese, surface ripened with a washed rind. It has a distinctive creamy, lightly tangy, tender taste. Its full aroma and fruity flavour are reminiscent of an apple on the verge of fermentation. Its washed rind gives it an orange-tinted exterior.

The Nibbl. Bite

If ever there was a cheese made for pickle and wholegrain mustard, this is it! Try melting on a baguette slice, keeping the rind on for colour and texture.

Getting Behind the Rind

CHEESE IS OUR LIFE AND IT BEGINS ON THE LAND

It was here in Saint-Raymond de Portneuf in 1842 that young Alexis Cayer settled. The land was perfect for pasture and over the years his family became master cheesemakers. Today, their specialty cheeses win the world’s most prestigious awards. Yet they're still in the same village, because their passion is still rooted in the land.
